Exactly what I was expecting! Almost bought the Turtlebox until I watched videos on the defender, I read some reviews and that was all it took to change my mind! Love it!
The EcoTrek is rugged and durable. The build of the EcoTrek takes me back to simpler times when I would work outside with my old man. I can leave the radio on for hours at a time, excellent battery life. I purchased the EcoTrek thinking that the Ecoconnect could connect to Ecocast. Sadly, the two systems are not compatible. That being said, the speaker is still a very well put together sound system for the price. Only downside is the limited speaker connection.
The mount itself seemed fine but it was too big for my golf cart. The arms overlapped so it could not be used. I returned the item but it was $30 to ship it, with no credit available. This companies gear is top quality, but pricey. Ridiculous to not receive some sort of credit or return voucher on shipping. It was $10 shipping to get it, $30 to return. A little stingy.
This is my second purchase of the Defender and I’m very impressed! I done a side by side comparison with the Turtlebox and the Defender was a slightly clearer and had deeper bass with no added distortion.
I bought the ecoxgear ecoboulder pro in August of 2024. I've only used it a couple of times and now the battery won't stay charged more than 20 mins. Customer service said they would send a new batter but have proof of purchase. I no longer have the receipt and am now stuck with a plug- in speaker. I've bought cheaper speakers that were better quilty then this. Buyer beware. Battery shouldn't go bad in 4 months.
