Important Safety Recall Notice

Please be advised that we recently identified a potential safety concern with the EcoBoulder Bluetooth Speaker Model GDI-EXBM900 series. The speaker’s battery can become overcharged, and burst, posing fragmentation and impact hazards. ECOXGEAR has determined that a limited number of such batteries may be susceptible to this situation.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission on this issue and have decided to implement a voluntary safety modification to the battery compartment.

If you still have an EcoBoulder Bluetooth Speaker Model GDI-EXBM900 series unit in operation, please contact customer support immediately at (800) 903-9664

Hazard

The speaker’s battery can become overcharged, and burst, posing fragmentation and impact hazards. Consumers should immediately stop using the speaker and contact ECOXGEAR customer service for a free battery replacement kit.

Question: How do I know if my speaker is part of this recall?

Answer: Check the model number which is labeled on the side compartment door matches the following numbers. The model number can be found in the upper left inside the door on the right side of the product.

I really like this product. It has served me well for several years. I need to purchase a new one. However, I am unsure of another product that is as light as this one. It appears all of the others are too heavy for my liking.

EcoTREK

The EcoTrek is rugged and durable. The build of the EcoTrek takes me back to simpler times when I would work outside with my old man. I can leave the radio on for hours at a time, excellent battery life. I purchased the EcoTrek thinking that the Ecoconnect could connect to Ecocast. Sadly, the two systems are not compatible. That being said, the speaker is still a very well put together sound system for the price. Only downside is the limited speaker connection.
