A great "big" little speaker.

I bought this speaker at the beginning of the summer because I wanted a portable outdoor speaker to bring on some trips. I can say that it didn't disappoint! I've used it outside while grilling, brought it on boat rides and beaches in Toledo Bend, and recently used during our trip to Gulf Shores at the beach and our campsite. It sounds great both at loud and low volumes. It's rugged to take on the clay dirt of the lake shore and the sandy beaches along the Gulf coast. I even dropped it in the water from our boat in Toledo Bend and was impressed by its ability to float and not get damaged by the water. I have a larger Defender that I was able to connect my Scout to, and have music in multiple places. Battery life is pretty good too. All in all, I'm very happy with my Scout, and I would recommend it to my friends and family if they are looking for an affordable, rugged, high quality portable speaker.

Exogear Defender Scout

Just received so limited use at this point. So far I am impressed. Very good volume out of a small portable unit. Lots of options and features. Multiple EQ settings and a host of lights if that's your thing. Also has a pretty solid flashlight. Bought it for the boat so as not to drain the batteries. I recommend.

Better than expected!!

Perfect speaker and also pairs great with my Defender!

Loud!!! Amazing sound and great amount of bass. The only thing i saw when i floated it in my pool the speaker leaned harder to one side allowing water on the speaker so it muffled it just some. Maybe on next model the weight inside the speaker can be balanced out a little more. 100 percent would recommend. Im am very happy with the product overall

Great BT speaker for indoor/outdoor use

I brought this along camping with me after making the purchase a week or so earlier and it did not disappoint! The sound, overall quality, battery life and ease of use were all a plus. No issues connecting to an Apple iPhone. I plan to use this daily for numerous years to come.

I was going back and forth between this speaker and the turtle box speaker. After looking a numerous reviews and comparing one to the other, I decided to go with the defender. The $150 savings going with this vs. the turtle box is what was most attractive and ultimately the deciding factor.
I work in construction and needed a speaker that could withstand the harsh elements of Arizona and could drown out the loud noise of all the construction equipment in operation. This speaker has exceeded my expectations and the battery life on a full charge will get me through a couple days playing all shift long.
It has already endured a drop or two, rain, dust, you name it. It’s holding strong!
An addition for home will be in the near future.

If you are contemplating between ecoxgear or turtle box. I highly recommend EcoXGear, unless you want to spend more for no reason.

Sound and installation

The installation Is a breeze and the sound is awesome just the right amount of bass on medium and rocks when turned up will be adding another just to blow it out the water
