Buyer beware

Had this speaker for 2 years. I teach 19 aqua aerobic classes per week. I transport it to and from the pools daily. I was very happy with it until recently. Over the past few months the ability to hold a charge has diminished to about 2 hours. I need it for 5 hours. I ordered a new battery for $59. I had no problem with this. Now I have problem with 1 wheel. A piece of plastic keeps dropping down and locking the wheel. I contacted the company about getting a new set of wheels, for my husband to rep!ace, but they do not sell replacement wheels. Customer service was poor. Their solution is for me to ship this very large and heavy speaker back to them, so that they can replace the wheels. The cost to replace the wheels is $70, and the man on the phone told me it would cost over $100 to ship it to them. Remember, I just shelled out $60 for a replacement battery, so this would bring the cost of these repairs and shipping up to a minimum of $230. He then informed me I could just get a new one for $249. I complained that the shipping does not make repairs worthwhile, why not just sell the wheels? He informed me that theses speakers are built to last 10 years, mine lasted 2. In addition the handle is getting stuck going up and down. I have to jiggle it to get it to go back down, and a few times it has come apart when I pull it out, but I have been able to get it back together. The wheel continues to lock up on me multiple times per day, so I have to up end the speaker and force this piece of plastic back up. I've tried taping it, but it that doesn't hold. I'm getting ready to replace the battery, I'm going to have my husband try to try to find a wheel repair solution, but if not, I am going to buy a hand card and bungee cords to transport it. Overall customer service is poor. If you need this speaker for daily use for work, it is NOT durable and repairs are cost prohibitive. I will continue to use it for now, bot will NOT buy another for my job. They have lost my business.

No Complaints

I’ve had the Ecoboulder+ for about six years now. It’s been a great speaker. We use it all the time. The sound quality is excellent and it can get extremely loud. I’ve rocked the neighborhood quite a few times. lol The only issue was in this last year. The battery started taking less of a charge, but it was an easy fix. Replace it with the lithium battery and we are back in business. Plus makes the speaker lighter. I would recommend this speaker to everyone. Just like it was recommended to me.

Thanks for the review, Chad! Happy to hear you have been a long time user and enjoying your Boulder.

Horrible customer service

I purchased this speaker about two years ago. Quickly one of the poorly designed wheels broke loose, but stayed inside the speaker. Over time it became more difficult to roll. I was able to open the speaker case to find the wheel housing that screws to the case had broken from the **** area. I tried to glue the **** wings back to the housing. While I had it apart I took the opportunity to upgrade the wheels to inline skate blades, What it should have had from the beginning. I reassembled the speaker, carefully placing the gasket, even recaulking the antenna. Unfortunately the glue repair did not hold and the wheel again came loose. I contacted Ecoxgear to purchase a new wheel housing only to be told they didn't have that part available to ship, and that opening the speaker to repair the speaker was to difficult for me to do. They told me I would have to ship the speaker to California for them to repair and they would send it back to me. All at my expense. Despite my best attempts to explain that I had already opened and put the speaker back together and I was not looking for warranty service, it fell on deaf ears. I explained, I simply needed the wheel housing and was willing to pay for it. THe speaker is good but the wheels are garbage. I was told they didn't have the part to ship. When I asked how they could repair it but not have the part to send. It could not be logically explained. The conversation ended with me explaining to a manager, this made no sense, they had lost me as a customer, and a negative review was forthcoming. The manager could care less. That should tell you what kind of company this is.
